Froglore updates - 2025-08-27


I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who has played and shared comments/ideas/feedback in the various places this has been shared - it has all been incredibly helpful!

I just pushed the first round of updates addressing some of the common (and easy to update) things which have come up in all the feedback. Sharing all the specific changes I've made below + some ideas for future updates.

New Changes
-----

  • Significantly reduced the time it takes to prepare a 'super hop'
  • Slightly increased movement speed
  • Added a short buffer time to allow a big hop to still happen even if pressed just after movement (like coyote-time)
  • Pressing 'Up' while idle will change facing direction (helpful if you need to turn around and dash out of tight spaces)
  • Slightly faster death/respawn animation and timing (for those dying a lot ;) )
  • Improved visibility on statues (small tweaks to coloring and now placed in front of tall grasses)
  • Added an animation to spikes to help distinguish more from surroundings
  • Changed the primary font used throughout
  • Added more text when standing in range of interactable objects (e.g. statues you can croak at)
  • Added a 'controls' menu which can be found when pausing


Planned changes
-----

  • More or expanded levels - considering having each level consist of 2-3 screens rather than 1
  • More biome/tileset variety across levels
  • Improving the water to make it a little more interesting
  • Will try out have abilities unlock as you progress through levels, rather than having everything unlocked at the start
  • More secrets, additional NPCs, more lore
