Welcome to FrogLore - a small frog platformer game where you play as a little frog collecting light bugs and purifying areas. Complete each level once then return for a second, slightly more difficult challenge.

There are only a few levels for now and overall total gameplay could be as short as 10-15 minutes if you're quick!

One word of warning - the movement is different than most platformers - the left/right movement consists of hops rather than typical walking. It will take some time to get used to but I feel it pays off getting familiar with how it controls and getting to the point that you can zip through the levels!

-----

Controls for keyboard / gamepad (also viewable in game when paused)

  • Move with A/D, arrow keys, or D-Pad
  • 'UP' enters portals, clings to walls, or changes direction
  • Space or A (controller) for bigger hops
  • Shift or L/R (controller) to dash
  • F or X (controller) to croak
  • Hold 'Down' to prepare a super hop
  • Change your color with Tab/Select

-----

I originally had lighting and a more interesting water shader - but had to remove both to get web gl builds to work somewhat for mac - so some ambience may be lacking at the moment.

Created with Godot. All art and development done by me - would love some feedback and am curious if it would be worth expanding the game out more or not!

The SFX were from various packs created by https://ateliermagicae.itch.io/

I hope you enjoy!

Love the vibe already, the hopping controls sound like they’ll make it stand out. Feels like it could be worth expanding for sure.

Having some trouble dashing over that large spiked area around level 5

Yeah, i think that might be the first really difficult spot. Hitting the dash timing at the top of a big hop is maybe too tight. One tip is if you barely miss it, you can cling to the wall at the edge then hop up from there.

I can look at some forgiveness on that jump/dash by maybe adding another spot to land safely on or shorten the distance a bit

Thanks for playing!

Hello! I loved the aesthetics of your game. I am a video game music composer. Do you have a direct contact channel where I can show you my portfolio? Best regards!

Thank you! I am set for music at the moment but please feel free to share any links here!
